Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres, quarum unam incolunt Belgae, aliam Aquitani, tertiam, qui ipsorum lingua Celtae, nostra Galli appellantur.
Gaius Julius Caesar was on his way for about 6 days, he had travelled 150 km a day and was soon to reach the outer village of the province Gallia Cisalpina of which he just became Proconsul. He got this title in a slightly different way than usual. He called together a town-meeting where he demanded the proconsulship of Gaul. Now he had nearly reached Geneve.
