got a question before I start will I face characters with unnatural abilities (like spellcasters and such) or is it like real ancient times, just warfars, spies, setting the enemy camp on fire? If magic is allowed, I will not enter this RPG... if this is reality stuff I'm in. (I don't like the thought of having to deal with spellcaster and other non-realistic crap in a realistic history rpg.

Well, this rp is as you might know based on the game: Dynasty warriors (5)wich is based on the faous novel Romance of the three kingdoms. In both the book and the game there are a few magic related things. Zhang Jiao, ruler of the yellow turbans was said to posses mystical powers (and this also happens in the game) and the book said that the strategist Zhuge Liang, prayed to the gods a couple of times. (not really magic but all his prayers where answered. Furthermore, in the dynasty warrior game, some characters have magic based attacks. (Zhang Jiao uses a fire creating cane) So to answer your question, yes there will be some magic involved in the RP, but not like the huge world destroying kamehame-ha's we see daily in many Rp's. Truth, in the beginning scenerio's facing the yellow turbans, Zhang Jiao will do a few magical things: Creating a storming wind, restoring a poisenous swamp and creating a phantom army. but thats the only real magic thingys you'll find. I hope That brings an answer to your question and I have to apologize for my very long monologue, something you get when you have to watch Balkenende talk for 2 hours!

k it's good to know that there isn't a magic dominating thing in this RPG... and the fire cane could easily be explained like the so called fire eaters... prayers to a God which are heard could be said that it's sheer luck. and summoning a stormy wind could also be coincidence.... restoring a poisonous swamp is doable but a phantom army? >_> How can you explain that to a soldier who refuses to believe in magic and spirits and such..... ow well I will create a character and see how well I fit in according to my own historical knowledge.

Yay glad to hear, infact I just realised that in one of the dynasty warriors stages it appears he is creating those phantoms with the help of a few breakable pots...yeah don't explan much in HOW and WHY those pots work...but it helps clearing it up a bit. Hope to see your character soon

How can you explain that to a soldier who refuses to believe in magic and spirits and such..... They actually believed in Spirits and ghost in ancient China, and maybe even now, I don't know about that.

yeah but there are always some who don't believe in it. (and to be honest I never saw an army of ghosts rising from pots >_>) My character only believes in science (as do I, although I do believe in a realm of spirits.... but no magic, and no Gods.) these days you could say it is photoshopped if it is a picture, or it's smoke or a projector.... but back then.... only mist or smoke could be the answer (but an army.... I presume they kill people >_> so that's a bit hard to believe for my character.... although he might believe what he sees... I don't know yet... I will figure it out when the time comes.

well it was said that Zhang Jiao and his brothers used illusions to confuse the opponents, back then it was easy because they where very soon to say things where magic, demons and spirits if they didn't knew what it was.
They used like you said Koruam, fog to create this confusion, but the gamemakers just made phantoms out of them for the game... and this RP will follow the game...
p.s. Zhang Jiao's orignial name is Zhang Liao, but since there is already a Zhang Liao in the game the gamemakers thought it would be confusing and changed the L in his name to J.

Yeah illusions, thats the word I was looking for. yeah lots of people thought that something weird or not yet seen was magic or demons.... a very good example of this are the Aztecs, they thought the Spanish horses where demons and the gun's where magic artifacts to summon thunder.
